Yes. Signs cost money and are an important way to get your name and face out there.
No. Going door-to-door and talking to voters is more important than having signs plastered all over the place.
They could spend some money, but there's really no need to go overboard. Candidates' platforms should speak for themselves.
It's not fair that some people have spent upwards of $100,000 just to win an election; it could deter some great candidates from entering municipal politics in the first place.
