The Pope has criticised the Catholic Church being 'obsessed' with preaching about gay marriage. Is this a sign of genuine progress or just good PR?

It's a PR exercise - the church is trying to deflect criticism away from its long history of oppressing LGBTi rights.

It's encouraging to see - it's a sign the Church is getting ready to embrace modern perceptions of equality.

Too early to tell - the Pope's comments are welcome, but I'll believe the Church has turned over a new leaf when I see it.
