Should cruise lines employ lifeguards aboard cruise ships?

I strongly feel like lifeguards should be employed. At least of staff of 3 or 4 that rotate shifts

I was a travel agent for 5 years and I have been cruising all over the Caribbean and I believe that if cruise ships can have so many waiters on the Lido deck, someone controlling the slide from above, they can surely have a staff member watch the pool. Children with parents present, jump, splash and run around then pool and parents say and do nothing. Having a staff controlling the pool area would stop individuals like myself trying to explain to parents why they should supervised their kids around the pool. We the travelers think that kids running around is dangerous and could cause confrontation between guests but having a staff member around the pool area, the kids would just behave.
