I think the BCS is looking for an excuse to leave the SEC teams out because whichever one goes to the title game beats whatever other team that opposes them. The powers that be would rather see two weaker teams from two of the other (weaker) major conferences than to see the SEC continue it's domination. It seems pretty obvious at this point that year in and year out at least two of the SEC teams could beat the best of the other conferences.
