I think they wanted a boy and girl of roughly the same age for the finale, and there was no doubt that Alexander was going to win from the beginning. I feel like he had it all going on for the most part and was the obvious choice, and i don't object to him being a clear winner over Dara. I was honestly almost angry when Jack was cut. He absolutely got screwed. Maybe they could say he wasn't as organized in the last one when he had to get more ingredients and use the bathroom- but his dish was still perfect and incredibly difficult. Shouldn't that add to how impressive it was that he made it perfectly? He was able to take a break and still blow them away! I think Dara was chosen because she was a girl of the right age and Jack deserved 100% to be in the final 2. If it wasn't on TV and was a private contest, Jack would have been in the final 2 if not the overall winner. I'm sorry, but his incredible stuffed chicken breast should beat chicken wings and liver on toast.

All the kids were amazing. I can't cook that well and I'm a pretty good cook/baker.
I have to agree with C-Ann_C. I was totally surprised that Jack's final dish did not get him in to the top 2.
As the "chefs" said, "his dish was technically better". That dish was so complicated and he did a beautiful job. I felt so sorry for him.
Can't understand how a complicated Rouladen dish was beaten out by chicken wings. Oh well, I wasn't there.
I don't know if Dara's dishes tasted better or if she bakes better. I wasn't there and I'm no pro chef.
I do agree with one of the Chefs though. Alexander, looks like a chef, cooks like a chef, talks like a chef and probably would look like Julia Child's grandson. lol
Think they are both great but I totally lean towards Alexander as being the winner. Overall performance.

i think that no matter how well Dara's dishes were, the judges were going to pick Alexander.
And Dara's dishes by far (according to the judges) was technically better than Alexander's.
Her dishes taste better and she bakes better.It was obvious that joe was cheering for Alexander.
Too bad guys, shame on you

I agree that Jack should have been in the final 2 with Alexander, and I think he did get a little rooked. I think they were looking to pit a girl against a boy here - in the same ages, so they thought these 2 junior "chefs" would work out better. I think the show is some what prejudicial in their judging and selections. We don't get to taste what they taste, and that does account for everything, besides presentations. I think Alexander is doing the better work. He really does outdo his opponent here.
