I would have voted for TFIOS anyway, but I definitely would have been more hesitant if The Hunger Games wasn't up for the full series. I really liked the first book, the second was ok, but the third was just so weak that it almost completely ruined the series for me. To me, it had such a sloppy ending and I grew bored with Katniss towards the end of the second book. The Fault In Our Stars was compelling and captured my attention throughout the entire novel. The emotions I felt weren't bogged down by sequels trying to garner the same reaction over and over again. I'm bored of series that don't take you beyond what the first book has already done. And I'm not even sure that the amazing acting prowess that Jennifer Lawrence possesses will make me even watch Mockingjay, unless the film adaptation is dramatically different (à la Breaking Dawn Part 2)

TFioS it's the fad, The Hunger Games released before, simple.
If that was the contrary, THG was winning, and there's nothing "oh, tfios it's so beautiful! We love Gus!" Also The Hunger Games was winning first. EVERYBODY read The Hunger Games, including the people doesn't read, but what ever, TFioS it's the fad now. Isn't bad, but neither it's the best.

look im a "nerdfighter" - well i am, but anyway.
ive read both, and i do think TFIOS is a tad overrated. brilliant, but i feel like ive read similar/better.
and im a crazy hunger games fan and i really want the hunger games to get up this time :) i feel like the themes in the hunger games are reallly important and very thought provoking. when i first read them i hadnt read anything like it, and i was just turning the pages so fast it wasnt funny. while i did get into TFIOS, i wasnt as "desperate" to finish it, and some parts werent as clear to me. granted, mockingjay was a bit clumsy, but i did read it again and i felt it made way more sense a second time.

Although I love THG, I could only vote for TFiOS. Its so beautifully written and so thought provoking. I agree with a comment further down that THG was a good idea, badly written, they are so badly paced and the repetition of 'he says', 'she says' is just about the most annoying thing ever - especially when you are reading it out loud! I'm so glad to see TFiOS is winning this poll by so much - keep it up guys!

I loved the Fault in Our Stars-------------It was dedicated to my granddaughter Esther Grace Earl. I cried and laughed through every page--------fantastic book. I devour books but I could not get through the whole hunger games series at all.

Both of these are AMAZING and deserve to be the winner, but I have to put my vote towards TFioS because it made me feel emotions that I haven't felt while reading a book in a long time.

Anila, then that means you should be agreeing with Nick.

Both are good, but TFiOS is on a whole different level. This is no contest. No matter how much liked Hunger Games.

Actuall, Nick, I've read both and I still prefer TFiOS over THG. Wewt.

My finger has started doing a weird spasm thing I've voted so much, but I shall soldier on. TFIOS must win!

This is unfair! I'm a huge TFiOS fan, but I'm also a tribute. Even so, I've to give it to John Green, the characters are so well constructed, the story is so meaningful, you can be laughing one minute and crying the next. We have yo get more nerdfighters to vote!

I've read them both and must say, Hunger Games is way better. I liked TFiOS, but I don't think its as good as everyone says it is. Its pretty average.

How is Hunger Games beating TFIOS?! Hunger Games is a commercial success with almost no depth to it's characters. I liked it, but the Fault in our Stars has so much more meaning. Nerdfighters Unite! We must conquer this poll!

Don't worry guys, TFIOS is rising. Have faith and make haste - we must bring more to vote!
The best story must win out.

What?! The Hunger Games was a great concept written poorly. The Fault in Our Stars is far above the Hunger Games! It's only being outvoted because it reached a wider audience with the movies, the TFiOS movie hasn't come out yet!

I'm appalled by this. Hunger Games doesn't even deserve to be in the running, let alone be running against TFiOS. And then actually outvoting it?! If you haven't read both books, you shouldn't be voting here.

This is a little silly! These two books aren't even in the same genre and don't talk about the same topics! Why were they pitted against each other? The Hunger Games franchise is ridiculously larger than TFiOS; and the fact that it has already released a movie with a second coming out soon is completely unfair.

People who haven't even read TFIOS should not get to vote, if everyone actually read both books; then Hunger Games would just be ridiculously outvoted
