POLL: Which 2014 Album Will Be the Best?
James Durbin – Former “American Idol” contestant is set to release his sophomore album, “Celebrate,” in April 2014. Durbin’s debut album, “Memories of a Beautiful Disaster,” debuted at #36 on the Billboard 200. According to Durbin, “Celebrate” is his first real record, in which the singer/guitarist is responsible for the record’s songwriting, something he wasn’t 100% responsible for on the debut.
Slipknot – Corey Taylor told Artist Direct that the new album is a “cross between ‘Iowa’ and ‘Vol. 3.’” More importantly, this will be the first album since 2008’s “All Hope is Gone” and without bassist and songwriter Paul Gray, who died in May 2010.
Guns n’ Roses – Guitarist Richard Fortus told Vintage Vinyl News that the follow up to the 2008 “Chinese Democracy” is almost finished and will be released in 2014.
The Pretty Reckless – Taylor Momsen successfully made the transition from “Gossip Girl” to rock star with The Pretty Reckless’ debut, “Light Me Up,” peaking at #18 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart. The sophomore album, “Going to Hell,” will be released early 2014 with a harder, less pop/rocky sound.
Motley Crue – Both Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx said the next album, hopefully to be released in 2014, will be the band’s last album – ever! After that, a farewell tour…
Tool – Drummer Danny Carey told Loudwire that the band most likely will have a new album in early 2014, the first since 2006’s “10,000 Days.”
