Why do we instinctively class golf, darts and snooker as sport, but hesitate when it comes to dance? Is it because the judgement, and selection of winner for the former is always objective - however, for dance, the judgement, whilst based on techniques, is always subjective and down to interpretation of the individual. Having said that, you could argue that the judgement of gymnastics, widely accepted as sport, is also subjective. I'm on the fence with this one but my bias as a mother of a talented dancer and hockey player would like to be persuaded that dance is a sport.
