I would rather not receive any mail… what a waste of natural resources… save our trees/forests and go online for your interpersonal business and information, the times are changing, so keep up with them… community post collection sites also are a waste of resources… whew! no more junk mail!!!!

We live in the country and have had community mailboxes for sometime. They have been broken into twice and vandalized once (glued all the boxes shut). Yes, the boxes are not in a high-traffic, visual area, but Canada Post did not notify us on these occasions. We had to contact them to ask when service might be returned and how to get new keys. It took more than a week to get service back.
On the positive side, they are still more secure than the old-fashioned easy-open mailbox at our front gate. (But we never lost mail from that one.)

I agree that the poll is poorly worded. I am _willing_ to walk to a community mailbox if that's the only way to get my mail, but I would prefer home service. I also think of seniors who are not able to walk safely to a community mailbox by themselves. As the only child responsible for an aging mother, this decision means not only will I be walking to my community mailbox, I will have to drive to my mother's in the next town and pick up her mail for her.

Yes - I will miss it - and would happily pay $269 a year to the Government or Canada Post to keep residential mail delivery to my address!

The poll question is a motherhood and apple pie question poorly worded. Of course people will vote for convenience over inconvenience. A better question would be something like would you agree to com munity mailboxes rather than taxpayers subsidies
