This whole debacle is at the feet of a selfish stubborn ..immature ...former CEO..named.....Tom Horton. Emphasis on former.
The old double AA and eagle should be retained. Possibly the tail of USAirways...remove the flag....put the AA eagle on. Or at the very least.......if they stay with the current new look...they should shorten it up. The flag colors on the tail need to stop at the top of the fuselage......it's too much in it's current form.

The old tail AA eagle and the red, white and blue body stripe presents a clean, uncluttered, well known appearance with excellent business acumen that indicates superb planning to provide a quality product with the least possible confusion. This is what airlines have long attempted and what made AMERICAN AIRLINES a leader for more than half a century.
