Where did your child go after being discharged from hospital?

After my son was discharged from hospital the discharge list of follow up help amounted to virtually nothing. I was told he was too old at 11 for speech & language therapy / occupational therapy in our area. The follow up cardio appointment that was promised to eliminate his reason for respiratory arrest was not completed. It leaves you frustrated and angry.

This is typical of the NHS. It's priority is to discharge patients once they are deemed well enough but there are very few services who can help or support the family afterwards on the outside. It's a scandalous state of affairs and a huge failure of government policy.

my daughter was discharged from hospital 2 weeks after her stroke, as we have nothing in place for strokes in children where we live, a neurologist was brought in from another hospital for guidance. Sadly this specialist went on long term sick & my daughter forgotten about.
I have had to fight constantly for 9 months & find people that could help/guide us in the right direction. This is apalling to find ourselves in this situation, serious neglect towards my daughter, I am really angry the system has failed her
