At this point in time, there's nothing that can be done to turn this season around. And the immediate future is dim, due to a dearth of draft picks; and to the age and physical deterioration of most of the Knicks current roster. The only way to eventually right the ship is to clean house by following this plan:
    1) Trade Carmelo, Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton (if anyone even wants him) before the February trading deadline, for as many high 2014 and 2015 draft picks as they can possibly get; 2) Get under the salary cap; 3) Fill out the remaining roster by signing only the most athletic, high energy D-League, European, and young, hungry NBA veterans (read: discards) who are available; 4) Try to sign the two youngest, most athletic NBA Free Agents who are available in the off season; and 5) Re-build the team around these Free Agents, and a couple of First Rounders they acquire for Carmelo and Chandler, from the bottom up.
Let's face it, this team as currently constituted has ZERO chance of competing for the Eastern Division Title, much less an NBA Championship -- Even when completely healthy, which simply can't happen with so many injury prone players in their early to mid-30's. Keep Pablo Prigioni until his contract expires, eat Amare's contract, if necessary, and trade Kenyon Martin for a Second Rounder. These guys do not constitute the future of a winning NY Knicks franchise.
