That's a slippery slope. You can't violate adults liberties in order to keep them safe from themselves. That's not utopia, its dystopian.

No......... I personally am tired of all those who don't smoke try to eliminate smoking. When you begin to do the very thing you are trying to enforce on us like, the drunks or how about those who do street drugs and drive. I don't remember ever hearing or reading that someone killed someone else or themselves from smoking while driving. Last I saw we still live in a country where we have liberties and rights BUT the fingers are and have been pointed on us smokers. We don't smoke in hospitals or food industries so get off our backs with the smoking. I'm sure there are quite a few of you who point fingers and blame, are closet smokers. Let's see what your drinking habits are or how about your party drug usage. I am going to be 64 y.o. and I do not drink or do street drugs. I could tell you my medical history but most could care less. Walk 5 min. in my shoes and see what you would have to say after that. Don't forget people when you point one finger you have 3 more pointing back at you.

No it shouldn't be banned. Too many things are and how is this going to be enforced? Also, as a smoker, common decency would stop you doing this. We are rapidly moving towards a place of blame counter blame and no freedom of choice. It seems to me there are too many witchhunts on personal life choices and if they are disagreed with, legislation is brought in. Be careful what you wish for people, we currently live in a free country, that can change with intolerance

No. Simply put, not only is this "personal property", but most smokers I know are a lot more considerate than to try to smoke in a car with all the windows up. Putting down the window an inch or 2 allows the smoke to go directly out the window, not into the base part of the vehicle.

Only if there are children in the car. I feel you violate the child's rights if you fill their lungs with 2nd hand smoke.

NO I DON'T BELIEVE SMOKING IN CARS SHOULD BE BANNED BECAUSE THE OWNERS OF THE CARS HAVE TO BUY THE CAR, PAY FOR THE M.O.T, ROAD TAX AND INSURANCE AND IS THEREFORE PRIVATE PROPERTY, IF THIS GOES AHEAD THEY WILL BE SAYING NEXT THAT THEY WILL BE BANNING SMOKING IN PEOPLES HOMES, THE GOVERNMENT RULE PEOPLES LIVES ENOUGH, THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DICTATE WHAT WE DO WITH OUR OWN PROPERTY
