I'd say all people of all walks of life should show forth some compassion, love, mercy, and kindness to not just such a person as this, but unto all people.

What would you say to someone who was (sexually abused at age 4 or 5 and also experienced feeling in danger of their life as well as the lives of others) abused at an early age with experiencing *DREAMS* *VISIONS* *TRAMATIZING FEAR FOR YEARS DEALING WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO SHARE ABOUT WHAT THINGS TOOK PLACE* *one of the visions being the abuser taking that person to a field to kill and bury them there if they were to tell that they were going to tell others about what had happened,,,so therefore the child told the ABUSER that they would not say anything to anyone* *traumatizing nightmares for years followed* *someone who believes in God and loves God and loves all people, and has felt the need to use what God has freely given to all mankind, so there is at least, maybe a little bit of joy, happiness, smiles, and desire at times to keep on keeping on in life even in the midst of often torturous fragments of the AFFECTS OF DEALING WITH SUCH A THING AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE* ~~OTHERS ARE ALSO IN NEED OF NOT BEING LOOKED AT IN SUCH AN EVIL CRIMINAL TYPE MINDSET~~ **THERE ARE FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN RIPPED APART FROM SOMEONE DOING TIME OVER NOTHING MORE THAN WHAT GOD GAVE ALL** ***there is hope and healing with God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. may we all strive more in life to sow seeds of love, peace, and kindness to all***

Stacy, you were on such a good and rational roll and then you screwed it all up with your fag reference. You just invalidated any concept your readers have that you might actually have a point, because you are making rational points. How about if gay men don't want to look at woman or smell them in public? How about if gay women don't want to look at men or smell them in public? Your point is really a strange one because it only involves the rights of you and bigoted people like you. You might try stepping back and applying the same standards to yourself as you fling at others. Oh now, look. I told myself I wasn't going to use the word cunt and here I did. If there were any way you could cut off those last 3 sentences and leave the rest, I would so like you to do this, because this marijuana issue need not be confused with your own personal ignorance.

This is all about empowering the peoples choice within a free democratic society. We the people of the United States of America do not need another law prohibiting us from any perspective. Instead, we need to realize that freedom of choice is much more important than any view dictating over us. ie. If they legalized heroin, would that lead you to start using heroin? I wouldn't and believe you wouldn't either. However, we will continue to punish those who are going to use it regardless of the law by incarcerating them at our expense. In fact it's a multi-billion dollar business (incarceration) . Why don't we give the people the freedom to do what they want in the privacy of their own home and stop the citizen punishment and privatization of U.S. citizen incarceration. Who am I to tell somebody what they can and can't do? Newsflash! Kids are already smoking pot!!! Hello!!!! Now why don't we make it where their lives don't get destroyed over a harmless native plant that has been smoked for eons? Let's refer to alcohol for a moment. Prohibition didn't work for that "drug" and it won't work now for this one. If we legalized and taxed the production of pot just like alcohol, we'd be a wealthier society free from unnecessary laws. You can't drink and drive, and shouldn't be allowed to get mind altered in any from including marijuana and drive. That much I get. See, ones freedom stops when it infringes on another's. Notice the gentleman stated that they are busting shipments from other legalized states? Well, there's your sign! So, it's ok for the states of Co. and Ca. to profit from the sale of a product that the majority of Oklahomans want. Sounds like typical politician stupidity if you ask me. Let's send the profit out of our borders and wonder why we are not prospering. I say legalize all off it and regulate it to allow the freedom of CHOICE! I will do what I want anyway. Why not make it legal to be myself? After all, your pushing for rights of fags. How about my right to not have to look at those sick bastards? How about my right to not have the majorities opinion set laws where I live? Just sayin!@

A lot of good citizen’s will be willing to run for key positions in Oklahoma politics including state sheriff’s offices. One thing that I do know about Oklahoma, is that the people want what they want. Stop jailing people for a plant that has never been worse than alcohol. This plant can take our state to a new level economically. Just look at Colorado and the growth that marijuana provided. State Governor Marry, you need to get a grip because the state need this and bad. I wish people would stop using their personal opinions as an excuse to try to stop marijuana from becoming legal.

WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET A BONG !

  • Leslie Noah - 10 years ago

Mr. Woodard, this is NOT a dictatorship. What you just told us is that based on your PERSONAL EXPERIENCE you think marijuana shouldn't be legal. Based on what YOU SEE. Well, let me tell you, citizens don't see what you see. I see happy people, in good health with happy children in good health and you know what we all have in common? I see former drug addicts able to stay off of mind altering and detrimental drugs. I see seizures come to a halt. I see PTSD CURED. I see Cancer CURED. I see frowns turn into smiles. And the one constant is MARIJUANA. HAPPY OLE MARY JANE...She's here and she ain't goin nowhere. Put that in your DEA PIPE and SMOKE IT!

  • leslie noah - 10 years ago

    Shut up and smoke

  • Leslie Noah - 10 years ago

YES WE DO WANT TO SEND THE MESSAGE OF SMOKE POT!!!! Because currently MR. WOODARD, you and your organization send a message that doesn't even make sense. I would much rather my child smoke pot or eat a marijuana sucker than try a drug that will kill him the first time he does it. You need to bend over and kiss your job goodbye. If I were you, I'd start changing the titles of my powerpoints from Marijuana to Alcohol, or Heroine...OH OH OH AND HOW MANY METHADONE/HEROINE CLINICS does Oklahoma have? HOW MUCH MONEY DOES MR WOODARD SPEND ON GIVING HEROIN TO ADDICTS and PAYING FOR TREATMENT. Maybe if the Oklahoma DEA spent more time getting heroin off the street than marijuana we wouldn't be paying for a drug addicted baby to enter the world. It's coming. So find another Mr. Woodard

    The Facts:
-Cannabis legalization will bring millions maybe billions to our state's economy.
-Locking up non-violent cannabis users is an enormous waste of money and police resources.
-Cannabis legalization creates jobs and the tax revenue we would gain from it can go to education and infrastructure.
-The "Magic Wand" theory of prohibition is illogical and does not work.

I could go on and on but I have to go to work. p.s. I smoke cannabis and am not a lazy freeloader. I am a productive member of our society and I'm tired of being considered a criminal for choosing cannabis as a safer alternative to alcohol and tobacco.

  • Richard Sheehen - 10 years ago

Okay, Mr. Woodward, I'm confused. You oppose legalization but you support the use of CBDs, which are illegal in Oklahoma. Don't you think that supporting SB 2116 would make it possible for CBDs to be used in Oklahoma. I appreciate Senator Johnson coming prepared with current facts. Woodward only quoted an old, outdated article from a 2012 issue of Rolling Stone. I would also like to hear the facts that you have based your opinions on. I do not smoke marijuana and I do not support illegal drug use but I can clearly see the benefits of legalization for our state. And apparently I'm not alone. The majority of Oklahoman's agree that marijuana should be legalized. Why should we be the last state in our country to profit from something that is already going on and is not going to stop. Let's be one of the first states to say NO to the illegal drug cartel.

  • Scott Campbell - 10 years ago

Mr. Woodard according to this and other polls on the subject of marijuana legalization does not represent the citizens of the State of Oklahoma. Why are we paying his salary? He should be fired and someone who does represent our interest should be hired in his place. Additionally his views are not logical. Alcohol is every bit as much a recreational drug as is marijuana and demonstrably more harmful in it's effect. Therefore it is illogical to have one legal and one not. I do not use marijuana, don't want to use it and don't want my children to either, but keeping prohibition in place is clearly the more harmful (and expensive) option in terms of public policy. At the very least it should be decriminalized and treatment offered to help people resist whatever allure it may have. Marijuana prohibition is a complete failure as public policy and law. It's time to end the stupidity.
