Absolutely, we should to show them how proud we are!! An opportunity like this probably won't happen again!

One question: Who pays for it? I'd bet the City doesn't have a budget item for this. Of they do, or if some companies pitch in, I'd support it if they include our wounded warriors and youth football players. I think a key to the city would be more appropriate if no funding is found. Maybe Channel 6 would sponsor it since you guys are opening the door???

    Yes we should.

I agree with Carolyn Baylor and Margaret Garnes. We should have a parade for them for Richmond to recognize their contribution to sports. It is rare that you have 2 Richmond natives win a superbowl and the fact that there are 5 Virginia natives is spectacular. And no you can't invite them to the Richmond Christmas parade because they are working during that time. Let them get their own recognition from their own hometown which should also include by the way creating a Day in their honor. That is what cities do to recognize outstanding people.

Yes we should do it! Lets show how proud we are of them. I can't see why not. We need to make Richmond a little more lively ....what fun it would be!

No... I don't feel a parade is needed. These players get played well and get more than enough pats on backs. Yes, it would be nice to have a celebration, but Richmond taxpayers can't afford this ... Nor can Richmond's budget.

Yes. Richmond and other cities of Virginia should show support and pride for our sons and daughters major accomplishments. Let us continue to encourage our young to be leaders in today's society!

@Doreen: They are not going to give back the tax dollars you and I have paid and will pay even if no parade is held. Let's use our tax dollars in one of the areas that count the most; letting our youth know we love them and continuing to support them in their positive endeavors.

Of course we should show all FIVE of these Virginia guys that we are proud of their personal accomplishments and how they represent OUR state in such a fine way. Let's show our pride in our state and our boys!!!

Yes! Let's show our love and celebrate our hometown Champions. We should do what we can to celebrate the accomplishments of our citizens. We do not have a team here but we do have players from the area playing in major sports leagues. This is an opportunity to give our community something to celebrate. Let's do it!

Of course, we should have a parade and a city-wide celebration right away! This is once-in-a-lifetime occasion! And, include all Seahawks with VA ties! How often do we get to be this proud?

  • Doreen - 10 years ago

Not if it is paid with by the TAX PAYERS MONEY!

  • Michael - 10 years ago

Proud of the seahawks....but we don't need to spend money on a parade. No no no

I think they should be recognized for their accomplishments but as stated there will be a parade in Seattle. Let's throw them a parade right here in Redskin territory. Sounds awesome:)

Do it right after you have a parade welcoming home troops that have been overseas risking their lives for our freedom.

  • Margo Olsen - 10 years ago

I agree with Margaret Garnes! We might as well since we are paying taxes for it!

  • Lemony King - 10 years ago

What are you nuts?? They will have their parade in Seatle. If we want to have th in the Christmas parade great. But to waste taxpayers money on a parade for two or three guys is just insane.

  • Donna - 10 years ago

We don't do anything to recognize wonderful things that happen or take place in this city. I think this accomplishment is so deserving of recognition!

  • Carolyn Baylor - 10 years ago

How could anyone vote no. RVA should be proud. They deserve recognition from their home town.

Include all VA players on Seahawks team.

  • Margaret Garnes - 10 years ago

Well, Since Richmond is the Captial of VA I think All 5 Virginia SeaHawks players should be in the parade. You have the others from Norfork and VA Beach on the team too.
