Not only does Renee Fleming have a wonderful voice, but I appreciate the fact that she sang the National Anthem correctly, singing "Oh say, does our star-spangled ban-ner yet wave", rather than those who sound like sheep when they sing "baaaa-ner". She did throw in one flourish, but it still sounded like the anthem it is, (which in my mind is respectful of the style and subject matter), instead of making it into some sort of diva spotlight. BRAVA, RENEE!
