Oh come on jessop, this poll is operated no different than any of the polls that the Washington owner Dan Snyder uses in his defense of that viciously racist nickname. If you truly feel so passionate about defending the Bedford nickname then by all means tell your friends and family they should vote too, not like it takes a degree in physics to click a button dude......

in the indigenous value system, if something (like a racist mascot) is creating negative harm to even one person, then the custom is to stop doing it. bedford road has nothing to lose by changing it the entire mascot and name, but it has everything to gain by contributing positively to the community of saskatoon at large....after all a name is representative of the values and characteristics of those who created it. if bedford road, saskatoon, and canada really are not racist, then change the name. win a few more friends. make a kid feel good about him or herself.

This poll is so skewed as to be completely meaningless. I know that there is a campaign on, amongst the group wanting the name change, to get everybody and anybody to come to this site and vote YES. Wakey wakey Star Phoenix, all this poll is is a sham designed to give a voice to those that want the name changed. I challenge the SP to sponsor a legitimate poll conducted by a legitimate research group if they are serious about getting to the TRUE numbers rather than some skewed nonsense such as this poll!!!
