Right to work, would only work to diminish the power of people to work with dignity and self-respect. This is a blatant attempt by Harpercons to undermine unions who have fought to raise the standard of living for all. Giving people the choice over whether or not to join the union, and still receive the benefits of the union is what is unfair. #StopHudak #StopFord #StopHarper Stop the Right Wing lunacy that is destroying Canada.

Freedom of choice is what a democracy is all about. I belong to a union and am quite happy being in it and paying my dues. If a union is what you want and if it benefits you, of course you would choose to be represented and choose to join the union. But why is lack of choice so important to so many? What are they gaining by this? There is a lot of fear mongering and lack of understanding on both sides of this argument. Without this legislation we are losing jobs to states that do have this legislation. There are pros and cons on both sides of this story. All I know is that something that is beneficial will always be good and something that is not beneficial will not last long. And I do not think for one minute the union will go out of their way to represent workers who don't choose to pay dues. Another myth...not all unionized workers make great money. Those who work for employers that can afford to pay well do. Those who work in the service industry tend to get low wages .. unionized or not. I have worked in both union and non-union companies and made pretty equal wages either way. The fact is some jobs don't pay a lot, and that has nothing to do with unions, and everything to do with legislation, the size of the company, etc... Unionizing Wal-mart might not get them better wages, or full time jobs. Gov't workers tend to make good money, even the non-unionized do... and the big 3 certainly paid well.. but where are they now? There are so many issues and problems involving this subject I cannot even know where to begin. One thing is for sure... the status quo sure isn't working for a lot of the middle class. Even if they are unionized... ask a Personal support worker.

Next thing we will be back to child labour. I know the economy is not what it was. Have a little compassion. we are not slaves to the wealthy, and this is not survival of the most fit. There are still too many people that are past unemployment and welfare, I see it every day, people living on the street, or hand to mouth. STOP the greed. Shame, shame that people too many are are lining up for food. I am ashamed to see the way things are now. 25% of income for rent in 1970's, over 50% of income for most now. Is this whoever has the most toys win or can live half decent comfort.

If the right to work proposal is in the best interest of the people, why is it the people that are presently not in a union live below the poverty line are struggling more than those that are. If we as middle class do not stand up for what we believe then the powers that be win. Mr. Hudak should put his families future on hold and pray that his children will have good jobs in the future. He is putting our children and their futures on the line. When our government take cuts to their own wages, pension, benefits and live buy their own strong attitudes maybe we will be more inclined to believe them . They will never lower their standard to working class. They should remember the days before election when life was difficult for them. Go back to their roots and start from the bottom then tell us how the union is not helping us. Its amazing that the only people that ever want to make cuts are the ones that live high on the hog and have no worries about paying bills. First make $25,000 a year, try to find the funds to pay for your children's prescriptions in cash and scrape enough money together to pay your bills, do some groceries, insurance car and home, let alone the ability to send your children beyond high school. Not to mentions put enough money away for any kind of retirement. I bet that no one that is elected has any of these worries. They were elected because we trusted in their vision, prayed that they were possible the ones that would make a difference but once again only our wages are being discussed, our pension and benefits are on their mind again. Move on man. The world has many problems. they should not attack what little security we already have. I struggle each day to make enough to pay bills, feed my family and give them the necessary things in life because anything else is beyond most people grasp. We want to move forward not backwards. Manipulations and untruths of our elected are the things that should be scrutinized not our survival. After all they should be on our side. Mr. Hudak put your ego away and dance the dance you were elected for even if it means stepping down if you can't help us.

Lower wages, cut benefits, no pension reforms. If that is the picture Mr. Hudak is painting for Ontario workers I want no part of him or his politics. Voted PC for over 40 years up to the Harris revolution and we are no where near paying for the damage that caused. Why can't these people see beyond the end of their noses. I bet you Mr. Hudak does not want his salary or pension reduced. Just for your information managers in the Ontario civil service have had their wages frozen for the past 4 plus years. With cost of living increasing they are taking home less than they did 4 years ago. Industry is competing on the backs of workers wages. A cost within their control where other operating costs are not. Maybe Mr. Hudak should present a platform of reducing other costs like hydro, licence fees etc. so business will not take it out on the workers wages. It is not a right to work issue it is a right to survive and save for the future issue.

Right to work.....This title is a farce......the same as Employment Insurance used to be called Unemployment Insurance........Right to Work will get you lower wages and unemployment.......Canada don't buy into this farce.......It is a right wing ploy to bilk you out of the little you have left.

The right to work proposal is a scam. It will lower wages, eliminate job security, decrease benefits and destroy unions. Whether you support Unions or not, they are the reason for working conditions we have today. This bill will effect EVERYONE negatively. Look what right-to-work has done to some of the States. Its a money grab and it will only help to weaken the middle class. Be smart Canada.

Am just curious if people who support this understand it really means, " the right to work for less wages and benefits for their families", and it will not create jobs, just put more money in CEO's pockets
