I have depression and biploar since i was young,, I have been on many different medications and they seem to me that they dont work very well. I have mood swings all the time and the only medicine that seems to work really well for me is Marijuana, it helps more than my anti-depressants, also relax's me and keeps my mood swings from going out of control. So yes i believe it could help alot of people that need it.

On a society level nothing will change if it's legalized. People who smoke it will continue to smoke it. People who don't smoke will continue to not smoke it unless they want to. I'm pretty sure they had these same discussions when alcohol was illegal and the only reason it became legalized again is because people wanted it to be. If the same goes for marijuana, then it will either happen or not. From what I've been seeing as the years continue on, senior citizen who are the more likely to vote against will pass away and a newer perspective of marijuana will take over. I predict that marijuana will be legalized nationwide or at least in most of the United States by 2030, most likely after Canada does. I also know people probably had the same prediction in the 1960's and it's still illegal now so...who knows.

Just to vent for a second. Why are the youth always being used as an excuse for this type of stuff. When I was in high school it was even easier for kids to get weed and other drug than it was to get alcohol, so the whole thing if it's legalized it will make it easier for kids to obtain the drug is #$%$. If you raise your kid right then you won't have to worry about this stuff anyways.

The war on drugs is really the war against the American people, minorities and especially the poor.
We need to end this disgrace once and for all.
