Do you ever have to self inject because of a medical condition?

I inject insulin twice a day (at one point it was 3 times a day), in my stomach.Have been doing this for 2 years now. It took me a week to get up the nerve to start injecting myself as I really hated injections and couldn't bear to watch them pierce my skin. Also the thought of causing myself pain was really terrifying. However after injecting myself the first time, I couldn't believe how easy it was and how little pain there was. The fear of injections were actually worse then the injections themselves. In fact, pricking a finger, to test my blood sugar, hurts a darn sight more then injecting insulin.

I self inject every other day. The actual injections are not a problem, I use an autoinjector which makes the delivery of the medication much easier, however my syringe does not come pre filled, so I must do this myself. the mental part of it is what's getting difficult. It''s been 3 years for me, and I am getting "needle fatigue". I am just plain old tired of injecting...

I self-inject my medication once a week that I used to get intraveneously. I was scared at first but after the nurse showed me I discovered it wasn't any big deal. Sometimes I do hesitate before I stick the needle into my skin but the needles are so sharp and so thin that I rarely feel them. I recently received new needles that as soon as the medicine is finished, spring back into the syringe and these needles are even thinner and don't leave the after feel as the original needles did (a sting).

I don't find it a problem the needles are so thin that you really don't feel it. I prefer to inject myself.
