Getting the diagnosis was easy once we had someone tell us they thought it was autism. The problem was that no one was able to pick it up. I now know that the teachers and others in the school system were not able to recognize the symptoms that were screaming autism. Instead they kept telling us they thought he was ADD/ADHD
