I and my family and my Father who passed on have been Indians fans living in Cleveland and now a third generation with our two sons .And in all those years not one negative thought or word has come from any of us at any time concerning Whaoo a smiling Indian which is a big part of Ohio's heritage and so on the contrary we just simply look at our Mascott as a symbol of Pride and Respect to be choozen to represent our beloved Indians !

Chief Wahoo has been a part of the Indians and baseball for decades. How can this logo really bother anyone. Every team needs a name. We all have been exploited in one way or another about our ancestry. Just because people in the past have done and said things to the real Indians, shouldn't have any bearing on a logo . Things have been done to help the Indians. IF you remember the symbol for the Brooklyn Dodgers, was a BUM. People want to have something to do , and are worried about the American Indians should contribute to a fund helping the people. Are they going to try and stop Atlanta fans from doing the CHOP.! Sports were created to help people stop worrying about what might be going wrong in there lives, to be happy. I look at Chief Wahoo and see a smiley face. We need more smiles in life. If people need to worry about things that are wrong , there's a lot of stuff going on in the world. I have been and indian fan since 1958, after my beloved BROOLYN DOODGERS left Brooklyn and wear INDIANS shirts with the logo on them with PRIDE.

Why a team should be proud of the exploitation of a people is beyond me. If any member of the team or staff could tell us anything about the history they are so called celebrating, it would be more than I expect. their star Indian player actually played for the Spiders and lasted just three seasons before going home to the res where he died young and poor. Can any fan tell us his name?
