As a newborn my daughter hated being held and I blew that off till she appeared to be deaf (but a sedated hearing test proved she wasn't) and she wasn't talking at all that I put the the three things together to start to wonder about ASD

My son was sensory seeking at birth - holding his head up- and began rolling over and grasping toys by 2 weeks old. He cried for sensory stimulating toys from the beginning. He spoke 1st words at 4 months, walked at 7 months and was singing full songs by 10 months. He was expelled from 5 schools in his 1st year of education. He hasn't stopped sensory seeking and he's 11 years old now. (Aspergers, ADHD and anxiety disorder).

At age 6 my stepson did a complete turnabout! His behavior, attitude toward everything, even became scared of things like being outside, which he had always loved. We had him every other weekend and on his 6th birthday he was happy, outside the whole time allowed, energetic, ate extremely well. Then two weeks later BAM! He looked different in his eyes, and became a child we did not recognize! I told his father and we thought and wondered why and what could have happened. Due to not having a relationship of truth or any other good kind with the mother, she did and still doesn't admit that he has any problems. It's horrible knowing that he has not received proper care and although he lived with us at age 13 to 14 , during this time we had him evaluated and seeing the proper doctors, receiving correct medication he lied to the Judge out of the blue and was replaced in his mothers custody. He at age 15 now told his own father I never want to see you again! OMG we are still devastated but after six attempts to get custody or joint custody the judge said, "I'm not going to tell him to call or visit I do suggest he does!" Our petition was denied and we haven't seen or heard from him since. We know he is supposedly in home school however until the board of education has its annual report and finds out that he is not enrolled, there's nothing more we can do.
Even though my husband is disabled due to small cell lung cancer, a genetic blood disease malignant basal cell skin cancers, neuropathy (permanently due to the extreme amount of radiation), this child nor the mother could care less as long as they get monthly disability and money that my husband does not owe. Sad, sad worried Father and stepmother!
