I realize that Greyhound racing is huge in Florida. So I believe we should concentrate there first. Texas and Arizona seem to be where the public want to go next. I am all for closing the race tracks in all the states listed above!! I wish it were easier to get people to see how bad this is for the dogs. If everyone knew this it wouldn't be such a hard fight.
Florida is one of the biggest fosterers of
Greyhound racing. If you can get them to close their tracks - the others will feel even more pressure to close theirs. It won't be easy - as Greyhound racing is big there - w/the tourist industry & all. But - if you can shut them down - you've made a MAJOR stride in taking down the entire industry here in the states. GO FOR IT !!!

Add a really no place in this world should be happening, not greyhound racing, not the abuse and subsequent abandonment...
I am with the majority on this one.. make dog racing illegal in florida and across the country.
I live in Miami, that;s why I voted for FLorida, though I feel that they should be banned from ALL states
Florida is where I voted for due to all the adverse reports about the awful time greyhounds have there. Apart from injuries and cruelty, there is the awful heat to tolerate. Mind you, greyhound racing needs to be abolished right across the world, but sadly anything to do with animals and money is hard to eradicate....
It's hard to know which state to designate as most needy for banning Dog Racing, because EVERY state needs to BAN animal racing and EVERY form of animal cruelty!!
