Even though I have a very good 4x4 I chose during a very bad storm this past winter not to go a state of emergencey was declared but my employer said THAT ONLY APPLIES TO NON ESSENTIAL STATE WORKERS IF THE ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED YOU HAVE COME TO WORK if not you will be charged an absent see how they get around a loop hole and the they loved giveing their employees ( 40 of them THE POINT ) but in another storm when the parkway and turnpike were closed and they couldnt give them a pt boy were they dissapointed WE NEED THIS LAW not to hide behind if we just dont want to go to work but because we dont want to get into an accident get hurt or have someone else get hurt ALL because the employer says YOU HAVE TO BE THERE we dont want no montery sum ie days wages just not to be charged an absent for something beyond our control

I agree that employees should not be penalized for deciding to stay home, but I also feel that employers should not be required to compensate them, unless it is through use of their own personal leave time allotment.
