Should the government raise the gas tax, charge a per-mile fee or cut transportation spending?
The government should find $15 billion annually in general fund money for transportation. (Please comment below on what other programs you would cut.)
The government should raise the gas tax 8 to 10 cents per gallon to make up the entire gap.
The government should cut transportation spending 30 percent in the long term.
The government should charge a per-mile fee for cars.
A combination of the above, such as raising the gas tax to fill part of the gap while also cutting spending.
