The Dolphins would definitely get more out of this. A player and a 1st round pick in exchange for the 3rd pick in last year's draft, (which, as stated, could be more like the 8th-15th pick in this year's draft) is not equal. If it was the Eagles' 2nd round pick instead, I think that would be even

I can't see this being a good trade on any level. What makes anyone think that Jordan won't be as bad in a different system. Giving up the 22nd overall pick could bite the Eagles in the bum come Draft day if one of the elite Safetys would have fell to them. I can't see this playing out well for the Eagles and somehow the Dolphins would have finagled a great deal.

Clarification: I misread, and thought it was for the Eagles 2nd round pick, not the 22nd overall, in which case, I would agree the Dolphins get the better deal.

While this would technically benefit both teams, I think the Dolphins would be giving up more value. Graham hasn't seemed all that great either, even when the Eagles were running 4-3. Even in the wrong system, Jordan seems to have a higher ceiling.

Interestingly, this is about even for cap hit in 2015 (the Eagles cap hell year). Jordan's cap hit that year is about $5.6m, Graham's is about $3.2m, the number 22 pick from 2014 will likely get around $2m.
I suspect that's why the terms of engagement are like this.
