I am sure I have over 200 spools for regular sewing and maybe around 150 for embroidery machines.

I have a very large number of threads, but the poll didn't get specific in the type of thread being asked about or it was for all types. I have regular sewing thread, quilting thread, specialty threads such as button or hand quilting, and a huge amount of machine embroidery threads which account for the majority of my large number. Just the machine embroidery thread amount put me into the highest category in the poll since I have such a large variety of colors and shades within each color, plus the metallic. OH gosh, I never even counted the serger threads.

I may need that intervention. lol

I remember when thread was 15cents @ spool (I worked in the notions dept. of the Bon Marche when I was in high school. Still have a few wood spools.

I have a lot of thread. Unless you live next door to a fabric store (boy I wish....) You have to have a healthy stock on hand for any idea that sparks you at a moment's notice!

Sergers don't help the thread count!

Specialty threads for embroidery, threads for longarms, thread for piecing...those spools really add up fast!
