To whom this may concern: I live next door to a lady that has 10 dogs, most of them are the small yippy, yappy ones, except for one which is a border collie. Don't get me wrong I love all dogs but I have always own big dogs. These dogs next door are constant barkers every time they are let out, its very annoying and they see us outside they bark even more !!!!!!! She has had most of these dogs for a couple of years now and its not like they don't know us. We walk our 2 dogs most every day and have to walk by their property which is fenced in thank God. Our 2 dogs walk by without even a single bark they sort of look at them like what is your problem !!! I have 2 rescues one is Gabe (Husky/Chow) mix and other one is a Golden her name is Phoebe. Yes they do bark on occasions when people come to the house that they don't know. She wonders why I don't talk to her outside is because they are out with her and the constant barking really gets on my nerves............... As far as the shows, alot of it is true and very sad, I can't understand why people do the very harmful things they do and dogs are so forgiving. I give the people alot of credit that rescues or foster these poor dogs to help them. God Bless all of the helpful people.....

Have an acquaintance who hoarded dogs and cats. Few times I visited the stench was terrible, the walls were torn up, the bathroom was a mess. She even had several horses. Finally, someone must have reported her because animal control showed up at her house and removed all but 3 of the dogs. After a couple of years, she moved. Now I understand she again has 3 dogs just acquiring one in the past couple of months and a number of cats. Some never learn. In her case, it's worse because she's not in the best of health having had numerous surgeries for heart problems and has difficulty with the right side of her arm and leg due to a stroke. I feel sorry for the animals.

Its heartbreaking to see how animals are abused and many times killed but I dont see what happens to the abusers! More attention should be given about consequences of the abuse of animals! I dont think they tell the whole story and its seems abuse is getting worse and maybe those sick individuals are trying to out do each other. Courts need to be able to give the sentence of death to those where an animal dies or is near death when found. Courts are to lenient especiall against those found to be involved in blood sport of dog fighting. They committed murder so give them the death penalty or tattoo "abuser" on their forhead to warn others!

We started out with one Lab but like only children they really need a companion of their own. After Jill died from cancer we bought two Lab puppies Jake and Gwen. What a difference it made as they were close. When Jake died at the age of 8 from cancer Gwen was devastated. Six weeks later we brought home two Lab male brothers Zeke and Zeus. Boy did that perk Gwen up! Never having had a litter of her own they became her babies and she protected them. Sadly we lost her last March from a stroke but she was also 14 1/2. We attribute her old age to genetics, love and devotion from me and the love and devotion of the boys. The three were inseparable and when she died the boys consoled each other along with me. Two is a good number in more ways than one. But it still boils down to; can the owner financially care for more than one, have the time to train them and spend quality time with them. Dogs like people have emotions both physical and emotional and thrive on love and companionship too. Dogs are a lot of responsibility and people need to know their limitations and what breed is good for them. We have owned Labs since 1989 and wouldn't have any other breed!

I never even knew these existed (I'm from Australia, they're obviously not here yet on Free TV - why pay for TV when you can get it free? It's just more channels with nothing to watch on them!) ... BUT I think this is a NASTY idea - unless the shelters and rescue groups are getting a decent (ie greater than 50%) share of the profit made from these shows, then they're not really doing anyone any favours. I assume they follow the rescue groups not the animal abusers thus these animals would be saved anyway - it's ambulance chasing on TV
