These are all outstanding athletes. D'Arpino is the fastest 100M and 200M across the state in all divisions. Rabing is the strongest shot and discus thrower across the state in all divisions. These ladies will get my vote.
I couldn't agree more about the social media comment. Not sure how people get thousands of votes overnight when everyone is sleeping. When the votes exceed the population, it seems wrong. I would like to see the athlete of the week simply feature these outstanding athletes and remove the polling feature altogether.
Emma is a crazy great hitter, but Megan struck Emma out twice this year, plus One pitch away from back to back perfect games. 114 strikeouts in 63 innings. Only 5 walks. 0.50 era...come on....who is the right choice here? Guess disappointed is right.
Every one of these young adults are great athletes. Unfortunately it appears athlete of the week isn't based on merit, but on who has the best social media skills. Most disappointing.
