Do you personally know anyone affected by Obamacare?

Our corporate health care plan increased premiums by 42% in 2011 and 2012 because, the health insurance companies were enforcing the beginning of the mandates like insuring 26 year old kids that Obama has added to some family homes because of a poor government regulation job creation environment. Also some of our birth requirements but to a lesser extent. I was complaining but then my gasoline and groceries jumped by that much so I am glad I got that 4% raise. We have friends that are working part time, lost their insurance altogether because it did not match what Obama wanted. So they went to the exchange and found their montly premium insurance would double and deductibles were thousands of dollars more so they did not sign up. They do get emails of encouragement from Obama telling them they will be penalized--for accessing the website I guess. And we have friends that were buying insurance as a husband and wife, work from home, that had their insurance cancelled like a postage stamp. And when they went to reapply he had to buy insurance and she had to buy insurance and both are separate with more than double the premiums and a whopping $10,000 deductiible, I think individually. So by the stroke of the pen Obama by royal fiat froze the rest of us from the impending train wreck at least until Harry Reid can staff up the Senate with his buddies that voted for the highest tax increase on ALL of us in history. Just think for one second how many billions of dollars are already being sucked out of consumer spending, ads for the Fort Wayne Newspapers included, because of these tens of thousands of dollars in premiums per household? Are their solutions? Absolutely! Start hospitals, clinics, doctors, DRUG Monopolies, Medical Devices, competing. Publish prices, force patented technology to be shared. Mandate private insurance companies to compete in all 50 states and provide insurance to the uninsured for a fraction of the cost, not free because nothing is free, but do this over a wider customer base. The health insurance competition laws are the most restrictive and Harry Reid gets up on the podium, when he is not blaming ranchers for land he is trying to grab, that the insurance industry is dysfunctional. After listening to his old diatribes I can see where the dysfunction started. We all need QUALITY health care and adding more government employees to decide what MINIMAL care we will ALL receive is NOT the answer.

While I agree we need a better health care plan in America, Obamacare is not it. I have friends who have had their working hours cut so that they're now part time employees and their employer does not have to offer health care; friends who have seen their prescription costs rise by factors of 2x to 3x because Obamacare will not accept generic drugs; friends who have lost their hometown doctors due to excessive regulatory requirements imposed by Obamacare; a spouse who can no longer get routine testing covered under our insurance due to Obmacare regulatory changes; friends who have seen their health care costs double and triple due to the Obamacare mandates and friends who have businesses that are seeing increased "taxes" or "fines" imposed even though they offer healthcare benefits to their employees. The benefits of Obamacare do not justify the "unintended" consequences that I've seen. And as I read the IRS 510 document on the taxation of medical devices, I find that a large list of other items have been added that haven't seen much media exposure. Such as a tax on fishing tackle boxes, poles and baits; a tax on bows and arrows; a $.75 dosage tax on vaccinations, tires, vehicles and tanning booth sessions, and many more. Those added (hidden) taxes make the medical device taxes seem miniscule by comparison. As the poll currently shows, there seem to be slightly more respondents that have seen a positive result from Obmacare, but I doubt that overall benefit to a few make it justifiable for the many that I've talked with.
