He wouldn't be a number 1 receiver for maybe 5 years, and too small to be a number 1? Other than being a head case desean Jackson is a number 1 receiver, Percy Harvin is a number one also. He won't necessarily be what the Lions are use to by just throwing it up to him and him catching it but definitely a route runner that can create space and get himself open

I completely agree with you Dick. Watkins is a small slot receiver type. It will be very difficult for him to be a #1 wideout. He is very similar to Torrey Smith in size, speed, agility, etc. They aren’t true #1 wideouts in the ilk of Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Randy Moss, Alshon Jeffery, Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, D. Thomas….just to name a few. Those guys may be worth trading up for, but these smaller fast widouts are a dime a dozen. If you want to trade up in a draft, do so for freaks of nature like C Johnson. If the team who drafts Watkins has the idea that he will be their number 1, that team will be kicking themselves down the road. Marke my words!

I don't know why anyone would want to, or think that the Lions should trade up to get Wadkins or anyone else. There are a ton of WRs in the draft and we don't have enough picks to start with. I'd wait and hope that Mike Evans is still out there at 10.
