West Brom set to ditch blue and white stripes: Would you be happy with the change?

Isn't it enough that we have to splash out on new shirts every season to keep up to date? Surely the fans wishes can be taken into account when coming up with a new shirt each season. For me stripes, white shorts and white socks is Albion. It is the very identity of the club. If Albion did a Cardiff and changed colours I would seriously think of deserting them. At this present time I feel the club has lost its way. The relationship with supporters is poor. What on earth is going on regards Pepe Mel's position? It looks like he will be gone. I do not feel supporters want to see this. Some things should not be sacrificed for short term commercial income.

There's a chanting problem with the new design:

    "We are the pinstripes
    We are the pinstripes
We are, we are, we are the pinstripes"

It just doesn't scan, does it?

From when I started going to the Albion some 50 years ago West Bromwich Albion have always been traditional blue and white stripes and I do not agree with changing it now.
The Chairman and board sacked Steve Clarke and changed the manager earlier in the season because of fear of sliding into a relegation battle exactly where we are now . I believe if Clarke had stayed we would not be in this position.
He is now changing the strip against fans wishes , maybe its time for a change of Chairman.

I think it looks great. Its not as if we're ditching the old identity, we're just having a make-over. I'll be in the que at the club shop as soon as it goes on sale. Get with the times people. Football is big business & we need to be in the game is we are going to compete. I'm certain the new shirt will sell in spades and isn't that the point?

Im 32 and been a season ticket holder for as long as I remember.
I really like the artists impression. Its still navy stripes and if it sells more and makes more money, that only benefits us.
adidas arent trying to change our colours for gods sake. I like i. Good change, still keeping colours not like cardiff.

What is a matter with Jeremy Peace has he completely lost the plot if he wants to completely allianate his dwindling support then carry on with this rediculous cash minded plan . He and addidas should go into a darkened room and see who is the most the most impotent I guess neither both is the answer . Supporters are getting sick to the back teeth of Mr Peace wait for the back lash JP.

Jeremy please don't make this mistake. The Stripes are part of our Heritage and History. You would be better advised to get some good defenders for next season.

The white Strip worn at wembley in 68 was a change strip. Albion wear navy blue and white stripes white shorts and white socks and that is how it should stay it is the very identity of the club. Why do these people have to mess? If it aint broke don't fix it.

When evaluating the votes in favour, this should be taken into account...

The clowns vote on this, whilst watching their own team play in that vile purple junk (which is even worse than the normal orange rags)

Stoke ditched Adidas after 4 yrs as fans were fed up of templated, replica kits shared with other PL clubs (ie us/Hull). No doubt we will see the same fan displeasure & resulting drop in sales this coming pre-season...

    Awful

Terrible decision - I will not be buying this shirt - definitely. Another example, if this is true, of total disregard for fans' opinion.

I agree Andy. All white home and all red away just like it was in the good old days of The King.

  • Andy 'wba' Horton - 10 years ago

If we decide to ditch the stripes we should go back to the plain white kit when Jeff 'The King' Astle was playing. I personally dont remember these times but from what i have seen of videos and looking in the history books this was one of our most promanant time. I think that many Baggies fans would agree with me when i say that i would much prefer this than the horrendous pin stripes.
