Did 'Everest Avalanche Tragedy' respect the deaths?

i appreciated seeing the respect and dignity of all involved shown during the filming of what was planned as an exciting event, turned into a terribly sad time. All with the exception of the woman in turquoise parka, who indicated that if bodies weren't found within a certain time limit then, and she then appeared to move her hand across her throat, in a "that's it" motion. I hope I misunderstood, as what I seemed to see indicated a callousness, hard to believe under the circumstances

Why climb the mountain at all ? I would be happy just to visit the mountain and take in the view. Somethings are better left Alone.

Discovery/NBC didn't push the pace as suggested by a previous comment and they weren't the only expedition there at the time of the tragedy. I do agree those who can afford the tens of thousands of dollars to attempt to summit should pony up some large chunks of change to the Sherpa Fund but "how dare they ask anyone else to give money" is pretty cruel IMHO. Maybe some of us, like myself felt compelled to give based on the fact the Sherpas get only 5K a season to put their lives at risk and get only about $400 in compensation to their families from the government if they die. Some of us maybe gave to try to make a small difference in the lives of their surviving family members lives. I hope the Sherpas hold out for the increases in benefits they are demanding from the government, which takes in over $3 Mil in fees and only offered to set aside a measly 5 percent for the fund proposed by the Sherpas.

i wish the avalanche had taken out 16 NBC crew live and Oby wan in a live mud slide and not just the poor sherpas. I think they are the negligent party hardy (as on Letterman's show about it) here and should pay with their lives or at least treble damages to all the poor sherpa village families as they number 1 tempted God so- as they did invoke the gods in a ceremony on their live tv even as the book of Jonah stated and he answered back just the same as a mighty wind and blast of sun ray heat even as a whale even eating some the very next day for their largest death toll in theri mountains momentous history- so don't blame me - or do you all only listen to the mountains of life when you want too- boo hoo it's a big lesson to learn NBCus get it straight now jacket and get the wax out of your damn ears america and listen for a change and live. thrill rides kill many more than just yourselves yee haa ha, so mock Him and He'll kill some of you the very next day even

I watched "Everest Avalanche Tragedy" on Discovery, saddened. The most novice of climbers knows that you cannot climb to a schedule. The endeavor to film a "live" jump off the summit pushed the pace, effort, and lives past their limits. There were too many climbers on that slide, building Ogwyn a staircase. In our new age of instant gratification, let this be a stark reminder that nature is a force that will endure longer than twitter or facebook. The mountain always wins, climb her back at her pleasure. Disrespect her at your peril.
