Tough decision in a season of wonderful goals, but had to go for Kasami for the series of individual skills he demonstrated in making the run, bringing down the ball and then volleying it past the keeper from a narrowing angle. Suarez, Tettey, Rooney and Shelvey all hit wonderful instinctive long-range drives and the two Arsenal goals were beautifully crafted team efforts. But Kasami demonstrated the striker's skill set to perfection.

Agreed the goal by Kasami is breathtaking, the comparasion with Van Basten is apt. The Wilshere goal is impressive, but I believe an element of luck is involved

Kasami's goal is easily the goal of the season and one of the finest of the Premier League era in my opinion. He is running at full pelt, controls a long pass from his own half on his chest as it comes over his shoulder and while tightly marked volleys it over the goalkeeper from a relatively tight angle. This goal matches if not surpasses the technical achievement of Van Basten's magnificent effort against the USSR at Euro 88...
