How many times a day do you check your phone?

I intentionally never turned on the "wifi" aspect of my cellphone. I use it for calls and texts, but even those are kept to a minimum. I do spend a good deal of time on the computer, where I do most of my work, but come evening - its family time. It is getting harder to disconnect the teenager, as we have just moved and his friends are all in another city and state, but even there we do have limits.

Life is too short for to be lived virtually!

    Blessings,
    Donya

I totally agree that there is way too much time spent on electronic devices that accomplishes absolutely nothing. They are a necessary evil at times but nothing but a bothersome habit mostly. I will say I check the news and obviously spend time in blog land, but that is when I'm at work and find myself with a few minutes of down time (lunch break). Facebook and the likes of it will be the ruination of a whole generation. I hate technology for the most part because we are a disconnected society because of it. Everywhere you go there's nothing but ringing and dinging and songs blurting out of phones and people totally oblivious to their surroundings. I have a landline upstairs in my house that has a cord that connects the mouth and ear piece to the base. Yeah, a cord that keeps you tethered. A cord that you twist around your fingers while your talking. A cord that keeps you in one place while you have a conversation. A cord that reminds me that life really was better when everyone knew what a real phone was. And believe it or not, the kids got only a few precious minutes per day to be on that precious corded phone!
