I think the authorities should spend our tax dollars on fighting real crime. A bunch of people getting together for a celebration should not be defined as criminal activity in my opinion. Sadly Vancouver is living up to its name as the no fun city.

It'd be nice to receive a little more trust and credit from authorities … preventing those from doing what they desire only creates greater potential for rebellion. Monitor, do not Ban! Guide, do not demand!
