As an American soccer fan who embodies much of what he says BECAUSE I LOVE THE GAME (caps for emphasis, not meant to be read as yelling), I agree that this guy just is pissed off because he thinks Americans aren't worthy of his beloved sport. I voted incorrectly,i do not agree with the original artical,i agree with your response!! I have been a fan since the game was introduced to me in school in 1968!we played on our grade school playground,due to the fact that there was no organised leagues in Las Vegas,Nv!
I joined an organised league in 71 in jr high school! I loved it! The only coverage of the beautiful game was on Sunday Evenings we watched(Soccer Made in Germany)with Sir Toby Charles doing play by play!!the only printed coverage we hade was Sports Illustated world Cup coverage in photos and articles! My younger brothers and i we huge Johann Cruyff fans!we knew nothing else!! We cut out the pictures and posted them on our bedroom walls!
I played high school and college soccer and was quite good considering the lack of coaching knowledge in the western U S in the 1970s!
I've been an Arsenal fan for 30 plus years,even though we only were able to start seeing BPL games on Tv about 5 years ago!! I traveled to London 3 years ago to watch my beloved Gunners play Newcastle and RVP score with about 1 min left in regulation to seal a 1 nil victory!!!high light of my life(other than my 3 daughters births)!!
I still live in Las Vegas,i get up at 5:30 am on Sat or Sun morning put my Arsenal Scarf on and live and die watching Le Boss try to zip his coat and my beloved Gunners fight to Victory!!
We are Gooners of the highest caliber,and i hope to one day return to the Arsenal Station on the Tube!!
