Some of us have to drive our cars while we work to upgrade them.I can't afford to take my car off the road until I can get it restored.A work in progress is cool, but a junk on purpuse ain't cool.

What is cool is someone working on a project car drives it, ratty or not. What is not cool is someone specifically faking rust and trying to make it look ratty unpurpose. I appreciate the work that someone puts into their ride Pep boys Primer grey, Dupli color paint shop, maaco or a whatever if the driver did it or most of it themselves its cool in my book. Just don't "rat" your car it is not respecting the ride, its like dressing your car up in a costume a character fake not real... Just wrong and for posers

What does it matter if its "Cool" or not? Its his car..and its his thing..and apparently a lot of folks like it. Personally I think its freaking awesome. I get more excited when I see an old ratrod or ratty muscle car like Austin's any day. Way to go brother!

We build cars every day and it is totally up to the customer! My personal vehicle is a 66 coronet with a straight axle and patina everywhere! We really strive to help the customer build something they can drive not a trailer queen!

We've been here before. Rat muscle cars are the soul supporters of the entire crowd we hangout in.

Bare bones restorations. Well groomed drivetrains and interiors that well if they are something nice leave it.

Automotive passion is not an industry its a feeling a connection

Totally cool, they were meant to be driven. Back in 2009 I bought my dream car and it was basically Daily Driver and I have been driven it ever since. You can check it out:

If its out of necessity, then sure, go for it. if its already a clapped out body and you just want to go fast, once again, just go for it. It also allows the owners to be more open to to people asking to sit in it and take a picture unlike those pristine, restored muscle cars that sit in garages collecting dust.
