I can't believe Sanibel / Captiva didn't make your list either. What a beautiful place. Live in the north so because of the driving distance my second favorite is Myrtle Beach. Saw it for the first time on my way home from Sanibel. Was impressed by the size and cleanliness of the beach. However I only go between the months of Sept. and May. Never in the summer. Too many people, too hot and too humid.

As I relax for my 5th visit to Sanibel, I can not believe it was not one of your choices. I live in Florida and am no more than 1 hour from several beaches. My go to place for relaxing is most definitely Sanibel!!

I voted for St Simons because that's where I grew up and I will love it forever, but I now live close to Sanibel, Captiva and Fort Myers Beach and they are all unique and special too....and closer to me! I can be there in less than an hour! St Simons is a long drive now, but it's still the most special place to me.

The beach at Naples, FL is absolutely the best for families with children under 10 years of age.
Wonderful, gently sloping beaches ideal for the very young!

Pawley's Island is my all-time favorite. Been going there since the 1990's every year!

I voted for Sunset Beach, which is great. But - absolute favorite is Cumberland Island, Ga. Totally beautiful and unspoiled...except for a few Carnegie ruins.

I put Sarrasota, FL, but actually the name of my favorite beach is Siesta Key. It is a key off Sarrasota & is known for its fine crystal white sand.
The Southern Outer Banks, which include Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, & Pine Knoll Shores, NC, are some of the best anywhere. We shouldn't let everyone know that or we'll be over run like ones to the north & south of us! But we do have many charms, including my historic town of Beaufort. And Ponte Vedra Beach, FL is another overlooked gem. Wide uncrowded beaches & a great place to find sharks'teeth.

I voted for Destin. However, our favorite beach is Miramar Beach. It is between Destin and Sandestin. It is quiet. Has beautiful beachfront properties. It's more family-friendly and is close enough to all of the amenities of Destin - yet far enough removed from the hustle and bustle.

We've been going to Edisto Beach on Edisto Island, SC for years. It's undeveloped, quiet, non-commercial, and we want it to stay that way!
