It's really offensive to insinuate that David is a religious extremist or he is proselyting through his music. He could have used the press and social media for the entire two years he was on a mission. Instead he kept totally quiet and did his thing.
Before that he never hid his faith in Jesus. What I really resent are the way that people like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, LeAnn Rimes professed to be so religious to get a huge fan following, and threw their religion under the bus, as soon as they became very famous. Wearing promise rings and doing what those people did, that is offensive to me.
People are curious and WANT to know what he did for the last two years. THEY are asking him. If he refused to talk about it, people would say that he was being secretive.

There are mormons who are senators, Olympic athletes, famous writers, actors, university presidents, diplomats, well, they go on a mission, and just go on with their lives. Why hide your religion?
