The U.S. makes too big of an issue of age. Everything we do online, we're asked our age - even though one person is young at 60 while another is old at 50. It seems like they ask us so they can discriminate against us. It might be important to know the ages of children for many reasons. And, of course, those who proudly reach 90 or 100 probably want others to know about it. But other than that it seems to me that it is nobody's business. I think it is too bad that they are so rigid about age. So, she was 25 instead of 24. Look at how some famous women look at 44! We're trying to get rid of race, religion, gay/lesbian discrimination - so why not age?

THE ORGANIZERS OF THE CONTEST SHOULD VERIFY AND CONFIRM THAT "ALL" THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CONTESTANTS IS CORRECT AND LEGITIMATE,AND EVERYTHING IS IN ORDER "BEFORE" THEY START THE CONTEST AND "THEY"(JURORS AND ORGANIZERS) SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY WRONG OR MISSING INFORMATION THAT WOULD "EXPIRE" DURING THE FOLLOWING 12 MONTHS OF THEIR REIGN.."LIKE HER DATE OF BIRTH"..IN THIS CASE..RULE SAYS "CONTESTANTS SHOULD BE BETWEEN 17 AND 24 YRS OLD TO COMPETE,UNTIL DEC 31 OF THAT YEAR"..MISS DELAWARE WILL CELEBRATE HER 25TH B'DAY IN OCTOBER..ORGANIZERS..!! PLEASE "GIVE THE GIRL A BRAKE" FOR GOD'S SAKE "IT'S 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE END OF HER REIGN, AND YOU ARE "RIPPING HER OFF" HER BEAUTY PAGEANT CROWN AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK, PAIN,STRESS,EMOTIONS AND UNCERTAINTY SHE WENT THROUGH TO GET THERE?..FOR A DIFFERENCE OF "TWO MONTHS"?? IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND "UNFAIR".!! "YOU ARE WRONG" AND THIS SITUATION SHOULD "NEVER" HAPPEN AGAIN... "I'M VERY UPSET" SORRY.. THANK YOU RB.

She knew she was breaking a rule, she doesn't dispute that. It isn't fair to the rest of the young ladies who were competing. So no, the title does not belong to her.

She won the title and should have been allowed to keep it. If she filled out the application and her birthdate was on the application and the board did not catch it, the. It is their fault and she should not be penalized for their mistake.

What a totally ridiculous rule - and how arbitrary an age limit.

Since the board approved her application she should be allowed to keep the title and be part of the Miss America pageant, as well. Besides, why the big stink. Her birthday is in October which is only 2 months from the end of the year. The board/pageant is nit picking.

I believe since no one caught the error at the state level Amanda should not be stripped of her title because it was not her fault, and therefore she should be allowed to compete further in the pageant process.

The State Committee is expected to know the rules, they stated in writing she could complete so they should tell the Miss America national that either she competes or her state will not send anyone.

The fact that she was too old should have been caught during the application and approval process. Someone was asleep at the switch.
