I sat through two excruciating episodes and could not take it any longer! I actually wanted to slap those Idiots wearing white who constantly smoked and just went about stalking people. They were so utterly ANNOYING! What the heck was that all about? And, why did these weirdos HAND WRITE their stupid verbal questions and comments on paper? What lame-O came up with this idea? I couldn't even make out what was written down half the time. The creator of this show should be drawn and quartered along with the producers, HBO management and the writers. This show gave new meaning to the word "DULL". I'm almost tempted to cancel HBO. This has to be the WORST series to ever reach fruition. I cannot believe any of the actors actually found this series worth their participation. If I read the scripts for the first couple of shows, I would have run the other way as fast as my legs would carry me! AWFUL! Painful to watch! :-(

Worse than attempting to watch Twilight....nothing happens. Blah.

It's boring. I think the writers are as confused as the audience. Seemed like an interesting premise. Pity no one has a clue as to what's going on. It's not the actors, they're in there grimly acting their little hearts out. It's the writers. Clearly someone didn't do very well in their English classes. Read Henry James "The Turn of the Screw." It was subtle but you knew what was was going on. This just slogs on and on and on...who cares? I think the writers are the real Guilty Remnant.

This is more of a so-so level show worthy of FX, not HBO. People are paying for this?

What makes this show ridiculous?--that it makes me feel the ridiculousness of watching such garbage. Why is it garbage? Well, it's the creation of it-- bad writing, the writers (substituting not knowing where they're going, vagueness, in the hope that the viewer takes it for mystery or suspense); cartoon-like, eccentric characters, one-dimensionals (people dressed in white who are there to rain on everybody's party, who smoke and litter while they annoy people who are "wasting their breath" yet not wasting gas by driving Priuses-- Perrotta was planning ahead in his book for a series that would persuade financing from Tobacco Industry and Toyota); the usual religious fanatic, the Pastor (how about that weird series of flashbacks--the moment when he's stuck in traffic, then all of a sudden his wife sick in bed-- terrible sequencing); all those "Fuck-word" bombs; what kind of community was this where everybody is wound up to throw in "Fuck" all the time; the mayor, the Chief, everybody; simply unlikable, cheap trick these hack writers use to add the volume of meaningless shock language to prop up lacking and meaningless dialogue and action); and that women--Nora, in the book--creepy, dropping a glass to the floor, for what? Carrying a gun? for what? All those hints, foreshadowing techniques have been dropped, makes her creepy; terrible actress playing her). And the mother--Brennaman character-- unlikable, ugly to look at, and all that wasted time waiting for her and her White dressed ilk to finish writing, I know they're not working, but, damnit, get an Ipad or write the text out on a smartphone, just don't SEND. Most of the time we can't read their writing. And it limits them to simplistic writing, making them simplistic characters, which, for the writers, helps keep the whole lot of them pretty one-dimensional, unnuanced, the writers don't aren't required to really work too hard, and that's annoying. I don't care for any of the characters, why is everyone-- but everyone-- still acting weird? Aren't there any people who know how to move on? In real life, yes, people grieve, want answers about inexplicable losses, yes, but there are many others who move on and don't act glum and depressing all the time, the insistent self-sorryness of all the characters is not believable. Oh, and the dog-shooting guy with the chew in his mouth (the show writers taking the cue and permission from Perrotta's Tobacco-funding foresight), what is the purpose of making the guy round head always have this big lump around the mouth? The guy never spits out the juice! I guess a concession to not overdoing the image of the nastiness of tobacco habits (With vaping--electronic cigarettes now available-- these Guilty Remnant people should switch over to that, by the way, and quit smoking).

    Things I'd like to see:
    1. Someone telling these White Remnant people, on posterboard or paper-- "Quit wasting your Sharpies"

    2. Arrested for going into homes and stealing-- pictures or whatever; for stalking; for creating a nuisance.

    3. Someone smiling. Someone who looks at these sorry characters and says, "Some people just have a hard time moving on. But moving on has been going on since the beginning of time. It's a human characteristic that shows strength." And then the character goes on their Bahamas vacation to enjoy some Margarita's on the beach and think about all those wallowing all over the world and having a show dedicated to validating them as an ideal.

    4. Kids or pranking teenagers that fill their squirt guns or water-blasters with black ink and to drivebys on their bikes and spray the Guilty Remnants white clothing. Just to be annoying to them as the GR's are to everyone else.

    5. A level headed character--similar to the Smiling, moved on character in the Bahamas-- who lives his/her life without giving a damn about the GRs, unless they trespass or commit

The previews looked good so I tried watching and it did not pan out to be as good as I thought it would be. It was slow and boring, and a lot of stuff that didn't make sense.

I voted yes, that I was a fan of the show, but it was a conditional yes. This show better not turn out to be another "Lost". There better be some answers given, and not just one mystery piled on top of many other mysteries, with many seasons going by before a hint of an answer is implied as being maybe given. Ugh.

I heard it was getting cancelled already.

... and Jennifer smiled her secret smile to herself ... she realized this meant contract negotiations with Justin were going to be a little easier this year

Leftovers may be cancelled, but another year of pretending to be ebgaged just got renewed!

When the dog was blown away before I could even figure out what was going on, I turned it off on the spot. You've got to earn my loyalty to stick with a show before I can put up with something like that--if ever. Seemed utterly pointless and made me not care about any of the characters.

Great cast of actors, but the premise of this show is stupid and I'll never appreciate seeing teenage kids using bad language around their parents... and is ok?? Tasteless. Nothing made sense because it was never explained who was who or why. It is just simply depressing.
