John, I saw ur comments on the WCCO news and wanted to make a comment about the cab service here so I tried to call the radio station. I got some receptionist that believe me....needs lessons on customer service! I started to tell her that I saw u on the WCCO news and she immediately told me, this is not the news station. I could not even tell her that I wanted to comment to u, she kept insisting, this is not the news station. Believe me, I went livid. Rather than give her a piece of my mind and a lesson in customer service, I am now spewing to u.......... No, I did not get a name, who could, she was so abrupt....but u may want to talk to ur phone staff and either tell them to leave if they can't take the heat of public.........or learn the art of working with the public.

And u are right, I was so mad at my reception, I totally didn't go into the problem I have with cabs here. Basically, they need to stop telling me I can use my card, then get the third degree from the driver that wants to to stop somewhere and get cash.............not!

Finally, someone addressing the taxi situation in MSP. Two stories. One night downtown a friend and I are in the back seat of a taxi and all of a sudden we "almost" rearended the car ahead on Hennepin Ave. After our screaming out the drives said " I'm talking to Africa"...on his cell. I drive 35W and Crosstown and almost every taxi I see is on the phone. Shouldn't that be "outlawed"
Other was on a Christmas Day we returned from San Diego and were directed to taxis at the airport to take us to our destination. When we arrived, the taxi driver said he didn't take credit cards...we hadn't been informed of this before our trip began. My son and I dug through our pockets and luggage to come up with the exact fare. Other cities the taxis take credit cards.
Anyway, food for thought. Oh, also, I've never been in such dirty and worn out cabs as many are in this city.
