Budget 2014 is good for the country. But, bad for epf-95 pensioners as I am one the epf-95 pensioners. Minimum Pension Rs.1000/- has become a big news of Budget 2014! What is Rs.1000/- to-day, every body knows. The amount is not even DA linked. When the amount is not increased according to the inflationary index, how the value Rs.1000/- remains Rs.1000/- for ever or till Govt., make it a big news of increasing it to Rs.2000/-!
Curb Govt. wasteful expenditures of all ministries, bring out black money, implement strict govt., policies to check bribes, etc., and divert funds to rightful people like epf-95 pensions who are all served labour force in various fields most of them are from unorganized sectors, unskilled workers, from mining and construction companies, etc., BJP in fact raised this issue in Jan.2014 to make epf-95 pension to a minimum of Rs.3000/- with DA linked when UPA-2 was in power. Now, BJP is in power. What is the problem? Reality lies in implementation of commitment. Now, the news is Rs.1000/- has become a reality! Hope, BJP Govt., really thinks practically and implement its commitment of Jan.2014 and just not keep it as a 'statement'.

There is no hope of getting anything good until some strong patriotic people take the charge of the country, BJP, Congress both are same two sides of same coin.

Every years budget is fantastic only for the ruling governments of particular year as they first think to fill their pockets then, try to distribute among common man.

Every person commenting here are either happy to comment only as it is their favorite party or negative as it is not their favorite party.
    Wake up India wakeup

this budget has many good things for upper middle class people like increasing form 80 &80c from 11lakh to 1.5lakh but the railway budget was shocking because fares will changed as per diesel cost

  • vinodini - 10 years ago

well balanced budget when compared with previous year.. thank you arun jaitley sir...

  • krutika mohanty - 10 years ago

I am mostly happy with the new budget because of 2 main changes i.e.,
    1. Additional excise tax tobacco produts and even aerated drinks which is realy spoiling youngsters like hell.
    2. tax exemption limit for tax payers

Most of the other parties/people say its not for common man! do a common man realized anytime that price raises are directly related to them ... earlier you had elected most dumbest party bcoz of that u are paying it now.PLEASE THINK BEYOND YOUR POCKETS and HOME. Do ever realized that out of 99 cong rail projects... only 1 is almost completed... where are the remaining where is the money? from my point... its a good strategic budget which makes future good....

Many people has complain about high prices in petrol and diesel..for those understanding about the fixation of price of petrol and diesel i would like to share that in state every day 2500 two wheeler and above 1000 four wheelers are been sold.peoples mentality is to have personal vehicles..then its a logic that more will be the vehicles more will be the usage of petrol and diesel..and thus govt have to import more petrol for you guys.one most focus-able matter is that India import 70%- 75% of crude oil from foreign countries..only 25% i produced within the country.

Now its a matter of understanding that govt will not pay from there pocket..if you are using your portion then only you have to pay for it..let give an example : if you buy a product of rs 10. for the purpose of earning profit then you will definitely sell it at rs 20...but our govt is not doing so..they sell petrol at half price of there purchase price..have you ever thought that Iraq issue didn't affect to Indian petrol price.?why govt. should pay on behalf of us..if you need that product then you have to pay it..and its my suggestion that use that much only how much is required and mainly if it is affordable to u..Indian people need all the facilities without paying..its not govt responsibility to lower the petrol's price..its a citizens responsibility to understand that lower your demand for the product which is not produced in country and have to import.

Its quite good budget compare to previous..high duty on tobacco and pan masala. its a good measurable control in health sector..similarly above some1 mentioned about higher education , then i would like to say that the budget includes 100 Cr for virtual class room, 500 Cr. for setting up 5 more IIMS and IITS...The budget is balanced quite fairly for farmers..high rates in COSMETICS is necessary because yesterday 1 girl's statement that "i spend rs 20000 on cosmetics every month"..increase in cosmetic will be not affordable by me..Now , how its possible that one who spend 20000 rs can not afford slight increase..India is country where large number of people do not even get to eat food for once a day and there are even people who spend thousands of rupee for the luxury life in cigarettes and cosmetics....budget is quite fairly balanced..

Excellent budget by Arun Jaitely, Thuogh I am not a supporter of BJP or Congress but FM has done a fantastic job. Next time he should include pension for senior citizens, who has no source of income.

Nothing new in the budget. This is the start of marketing, why to spend money on status , why not divert those money in tax exemption schemes. Well over all the road map for Government is missing. Should see for an year and then lessons learnt can be applied !

  • Suresh - 10 years ago

Have done better.. connecting rivers may bring many tones of agriculture corps .. may solve flood, provide water to people and farms.. why FM and PM do not understand .. 100 cr is not enough .. shod add couple of zeros in 100... also, education to be though in a better way..

this government & also the previous govt. wants to tax those who earn 9-10% return on debts & bonds while exempting those who earn more from equities. The govt. wants all of us to gamble in stock market for tax free returns. how frustrating?

  • shailendra - 10 years ago

Good beginning, it gives light for better future for India, long way to go, the intention of govt. appears to be
honest. (Rome was not built in a day) the govt. needs to be given time, nothing can happen overnight .

Wonder why the electronic media is asking for the views on the budget from a 4th standard drop out, college drop out, fodder scam leader, persons who ran away without contesting the General elections etc.

I think tax free income should have been raised to 3 lac. and 80 C investment upto 2 lac. this would have given push to purchasing capacity of the common man. leading to indirect tax collection.. Instead, purchasing limit doesn't seem to have been affected and inflation has created a bottle neck situation for middle class salaried family. I'm not satisfied as such.

Its a very good budget for a govt that has spent only 45 days in the office.

  • Pt. J. Nehru - 10 years ago

A nice and progressive budget. Slashing Rs. 5/- pl. on petrol and 70 % rise on cigarettes, Gutka and cold drinks. Additional 50,000/- on PPF and increase of Rs.50000/- exemption in IT limit. Rs.3600/- crore for National Rural Water Sector and Rs.150/- crore for women's safety. ( SG was found napping when last two announcements were made). What did MSY expect for farmers and the social sector? Subsidies? Year on year expect deduction on freebies and exemptions even in farm sector. Isn't reduction of Rs 5/- on petrol benefiting both the sectors? Presumably MSY can't have economists around him.

Hike in cigarettes and tobacco is best one to reduces smoking habit and encourage to quit smoking and tobacco. I appreciate for this decision.

  • RD - 10 years ago

There is no attention what so ever to health care in the budget. The whole budget is as usual a vote bank budget. Nothing new. Peope want a government health servic ethat is affordable. Not a privatized health service. The whole government health service has to be revamped and rejuvenated. The Bhor commission report more than 50 years old is obolete but even that has not been acted on.

  • zaheer - 10 years ago

This year budget was harrasing......hiking cigrates and other rail way fares un predictible......
