I guess the ppf money is also utilized by government for various projects where they feel that they will get returns.. And govt shares the profit with its investors in terms of the interest paid.. So why not to increase this limit to say 3 lakhs or even more, for those who can afford to put that kind of sum... Its a direct loan available for govt.. Govt should consider revising its rate of return by say about 0.5-1% which will save some more money to govt. And this money govt can use in various developmental projects... Its an ideal situation for govt where they are getting a loan and even they are in command for the rate of interest...

Besides PPF, the govt should also have considered increasing deduction limit of expenditure on treatment of family members for specified diseases. At present its a meagre sum of less than Rs. 40000 for the entire year for diseases like Cardiac problems, Cancer, Renal failure etc. In todays highly polluted environment that we live in our country, these expenses are very high and the deduction amount is comparatively very less. One would request the govt to increase this deduction limit to at least Rs. 2,00,000/- p.a

The limit under PPF could have been raised to even 300k per year, since, this is one source where govt can expect public participation and utilise the resources eiyh out borrowing from other source s
