Which Brand Camera(s) Do You Shoot With?

    Another Pentax user here.

Here's why I chose Pentax: Built-in image stabilisation works with all lenses, no matter whether old or new, wide or tele, prime or zoom, small or big. A lot of value for the money, including weather-sealing and 100% viewfinders that one typically only finds in more expensive cameras.

Here's why I'm still using Pentax: Pentax DSLRs have the best ergonomics. Nikon isn't far off, but they always get the position of the ISO button wrong. Only with Pentax, you can get an optional anti-aliasing filter that may be engaged on a per-shot basis. With other brands it is either a filter or no filter. Some unique lenses, such as the FA Limiteds. Unfortunately, Pentax lenses are not the bargain anymore that they used to be, but there is Sigma with excellent alternatives.

Can't wait for the release of the Pentax full-frame model.

I have been Pentax for about 5 years now.
Prior to that I was a die hard Canon SLR (AE1-program) user. Time came for me to get a DSLR and I never quite forgave Canon for killing off the FD mount (without so much as an adaptor). At the time all the Canon DSLRs I could afford felt really cheap and I was not keen on the control layout. Whats more I liked the way Pentax retained lens mount compatibility (to even 50 year old glass) and offered in camera SR (so even old glass is stabilised). So I went with a Pentax K-x (which felt so much better to me and I could afford it). Since then I got a second hand K-5 which is an awesome camera and has proved to be very rugged too. I'm sure the K-3 is even better... maybe some day.

Pentax is on the rise again!

All hail the king of APS-C?

(In the end, I chose it for the affordability of weather-sealed options and insane price:performance.)

Would also be of interest to your readers to know: why respondents have chosen the brand(s) they currently work with, what other brands they have worked (not just experimented) with during the last 15 years (I choose that period because it encompasses the digital revolution), and how satisfied they are with the way their current brands compare to today's "state of the art" competition.

I started out with Olympus, my first point and shoot digital camera. When I decided to upgrade to DSLR, I also went with Canon and their lenses. I have been please with my choice.

I've been shooting Pentax cameras since the 1970's and just bought the new K-3. I've been extremly impressed the past 3 months.

Loyal to my Canons - mainly because I have so much invested in lenses. But Sony is starting to make Canon look like Oldsmobile in a world of Lexuses and Teslas.

Always used Canon from my old SLR's to the new DSLR's. All my video equipment is Canon as well.
