Most people who are "honest" don't actually want to own their bigotry. They want the conversation to stop at "hey, at least I was honest about how I felt, don't call me a bigot." Honesty should be the starting point, and from there we can have in depth discussion. The problem with bigots is they don't want to be told they are bigots no matter how bigoted their views may be. All that to say: hell na I don't respect these niggas who claim to be "honest." Mainly because its never on some "I'm honest, AND a bigot- deal with it." Its always on some "I was honest, so DON'T call me a bigot." Fuck those type of folks. I respect people who own their terribleness, not people who try to hide behind "honesty."

No I don't respect them and call out my friends on Facebook who try to use their quotes as some sort of cover to project their own bigotry, racism or self hate...

I think we have lowered the bar so much on how we treat each other that for some people it has become an impeachable virtue when it should be the norm. There is another group of people that use it as a shield for their bigotry, racism, sexism and plain disrespect. When you're a murderer, using "Well at least I don't fuck babies." as a retort isn't acceptable. Why should "Well at least I'm honest." be one for bigotry or disrespect in general. It seems to be a running theme these days.

Hell naw, they want credit for being honest but they never admit to the bigotry. Dungy is not going to come out and say the real reason he has a problem. We went over this shit with Mark Cuban.

I voted Yes. I can respect your constancy and strength of convictions and still say "But fuck you."
