Why does it seem that most people get stuck in their jobs, even when the job market improves and they have years of experience?

Complacency. People become too comfortable where they're at.

Fear. Fear of losing what they think is a sure thing.

Loyalty. Although it seems almost dead these days, there are people who are very loyal to their bosses and companies

Sense of inadequacy. Not everyone believe their value is transferrable.

Ignorance. Some people don't know there are opportunities out there for their skill sets.
