Um. Dipset generally sucked. Yeah I'm from Jersey and I said it. Cam sucks. Juelz is okayish. Down and Out is the only Cam song I like and the Whistle Song is the only Juelz song I like. I heard "This Can't be life" this morning (Jay -Z and Mr. Scarface). Scarface's verse is better than all of dipsets verse's rolled together (to be fair it's a really really good verse).

My mind playing tricks on me is a classic song buuuuut, let's be Honest Dipset had half a decade on lock. With hit after hit a successful clothing line, trendsetters not to meantion Max B at one point Cam, Jimmy, and Juelz were spitting hot fire. And if you wanna talk horror rap, the first rapper that comes to mind is Big L, the geto boys aren't even the best in their own genre. When you talking gangsta rap dipset is top 10 if not top 15 as a group. When I want to listen to some classic hip hop music, the last thing that come to mind is get boys. So the fact that they gona move to the next round, and get demolished is pretty sad. Cause Dip Set has more body of work to choose from.

Geto Boys are no dipset and hav nothing that compares to diplomatic immunity.

This one was really tuff. I love both. I voted for Dipset

This shouldn't even be that close, Geto Boys invented horrorcore rap long before it was even given that title, put Houston on the map (along with a few others), and provided the blueprint for underground/indie rap acts who really couldn't get alot of airplay.
Guess what I'm saying is there would be no Dipset without Geto Boys.

What Dipset track is as good as "Mind's Playing Tricks On Me"?

Dipset was cool but the Ghetto Boys are the original southern rap group. They came out at a time when there were only NY and LA artist. At the time I didn't even know there were black people in Texas. Lol. They changed the game.

I got all the love in the world for 'Face but c'mon man Dipset ran the early aughts, Geto Boys were always a periphial group. Dipset's double album destroys Geto Boyz whole catalogue

This is such a coastally bias match up.

The important thing for me in this poll, as someone who owns a fucking Harlem World No. 97 Santana shirt, is lack of garbage. Geto Boys' discography, even on the 1998 album, is admirably lacking in pure compost. You can't say that about any Dipset record, they're all just too long and too loaded with cheap Harlem street beats.

If you go hit for hit, cultural impact, and longevity, the Dips win this. Are you kidding me?
whoever thinks that the Geto Boys are a one-hit wonder, hasn't heard Grip It (or the Def Jam self-titled re-release). No filler, just full of horrorcore classics.
I don't see how Dipset is even in the same category or even how they got a seed in the first place over acts like Organized Konfusion, Smif-n-Wessun, Cunninlynguists or The Pharcyde.
(My understanding is that Gang Starr doesn't qualify just like Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, etc. Seems like Jalen and Jacoby drew the line and didn't count a duo of a DJ and a MC as a group, which I'm totally fine with and agree with)

geto boys are incredibly overrated as a group and are pretty much a one hit wonder....they are way overseeded here...scarface solo stuff is a different story

Easily the hardest choice of the first round. Dipset has just countless classics and Geto Boys just had the ability to tell a story like no one else. If there was a way to pick both I would have.
